Hey there! I’m Cassie, the weirdo behind Crass Concepts.
I'm a professional fabric wizard who turns rugs, plushies, and embroidery patches into works of art. Basically, if it involves thread and a mildly obsessive attention to detail, I’m all over it. My work is inspired by the human body, bad jokes, cryptids, tattoo culture, all the cute animals, and the existential dread of late-stage capitalism. I love making weird, wonderful creations that make people laugh (or at least raise an eyebrow).

My Questionable Life Choices That Led Me Here

I started my journey into textile sorcery as a child when my grandmother taught me how to sew. From sewing, I took up many hands-on crafts and eventually added rug tufting to my passion projects. After realizing that a ‘real job’ wasn’t for me and that playing with fabric and fiber all day was way more fun, I pursued art full-time and have never looked back. Over time, I mastered the dark arts of embroidery, plushie-making, mixed media soft sculpture, and rug tufting, developing a style that blends unique designs, bold colors, dark humor, chaos, and the beauty of the human body.

How the Magic Happens

Each piece is crafted with love, caffeine, and definitely too much swearing. All my patches are made on a small embroidery machine, and I use a computer program to create all my patch designs from scratch. I hand-select the softest of soft fabrics for most of my plushies and have stockpiled a vast collection of beautiful fabrics to create unique fabric collage images on some of my more in-depth pieces. I spend countless hours creating sewing patterns and use both a sewing machine and hand-sewing techniques to ensure everything is top-notch and built to last. Custom orders are my jam, so if you have a ridiculous idea, throw it at me—I love a challenge. Seriously, I am a sucker for a complicated idea. There is nothing more satisfying than bringing a wild concept to life.
